Astoria Column
At 600 feet above sea level, the 125-foot Astoria Column provides a magnificent panorama view of the Pacific Ocean, Columbia River, the Coast Range, and Young's Bay. It was erected to commemorate three separate historic events: the discovery of the Columbia River by Captain Robert Gray; the end of the Lewis and Clark Expedition; and the arrival of the ship Tonquin.
